Hi.
I've been asked to find out by my drum teacher about any cd's that are out there that have tracks on them that don't include drumming, so his students can play.
I don't really mind if its free or paid, i just want some idea if that stuff is easy to come by.

Well, years ago, thre used to be a series called "Music Minus One". Only percussion on them was a highhat on the after or backbeat. Another thing you might look at are some really old Nat King Cole recordings. His trio consisted of him on piano and vocals, a basist and guitarist. You also might look at material by a group called Singers Unlimmitted. Again, old stuff, but some of their albums were entirely occapella. Obviously, you can also check with some on-line music stores likeguitarcenter.com, or musiciansfriend.com. I find the latter website easier to navigate.

Thx, i'll check them out.

I've seen some David Wekl instructional collections that have mixes of tracks with no drums, just a metronome in the beginning. But, these were on vhs and DVD. I know for a fact that there are practice CDs for drummers out there. When I had my last kit, I just used a CD player with closed back isolation headphones. That worked quite well for me but everybody is different in their practice habits.
I would thurraraly reccommend groove essencials by Tommy igo. It's not a cd, it's an MP3 disk. but it's got loads of drumless tracks from the genres of Rock, Funk, Jazz, World Music essencially, along with the music charts. But i can't see the charts so i compose my own drum parts. and if you can't see either then you won't have a problem.
